America's Second Harvest to Launch New Campaign
to Feed America's Hungry
Feb. 20, 2002 -- America's Second Harvest, the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief
organization, will launch its "Feed
America Now" campaign to distribute
food to 26 million hungry Americans on February
27. The kickoff event will take place at
DC Central Kitchen, a Washington DC-based nonprofit that provides
culinary training to formerly homeless adults.
Representatives from all 50 states will be
in attendance, along with Sens. Richard Durbin
(D-IL) and Richard Lugar (R-IN) and U.S.
Undersecretary of Agriculture Eric Boss.
The National Restaurant Association is a
supporter of Second Harvest and "Feed
America Now."
