Baked Apples

Ingredients Amount Method
Apples 50 each Wash and core apples. Pare down about one fourth of the way from the top.

Place in baking pan, pared side up.

Mix sugar, water, butter and cinnamon. Pour over apples. Baste occasionally while cooking to glaze.

Bake at 350º until tender when tested with a pointed knife.
Sugar 3 lb.
Water, hot 1 1/2 pint
Butter, melted 4 oz.
Cinnamon 1 Tbl.

Chef's Tips:
  • Use apples of uniform size, suitable for baking.
  • Amount of sugar will vary with tartness of apples.
  • Apple centers may be filled with chopped dates, raisins, nuts, or mincemeat.
